About this Refresher

Skip the Starbucks line or delivery fee, and make this Frozen Lemonade Refresher right at home. This icy beverage is made with simple ingredients and it’s perfectly sweet, but not too sugary. It’s light and refreshing and out right delicious. The whole family loves them on a hot summer day as a great way to  cool down.

The recipe uses the refreshing classic flavor of lemonade with a raspberry twist. Adding a little Sprite brings a touch of lime to the mix for a perfect balance of flavors. Everything gets blended up for a slushie like consistency you can slurp through a straw.

Although this chiller uses grenadine, a common cocktail ingredient, it is completely non-alcoholic. It’s also low in sugar thanks to the zero sugar lemonade and Sprite. If you are looking for something boozy though, check out this Blueberry Vodka Lemonade, this Georgia Peach Cocktail or this Skinny Lemonade Mojito that I think you’re going to love, too.

Recipe Ingredients

labeled frozen raspberry lemonade refresher ingredients spread on light pink background.
  • Lemonade – I used delicious Minute Maid Brand Zero Sugar. Store bought lemonade, prepared lemonade concentrate with cold water, or homemade fresh lemonade with real lemons are all options. Whatever works best for you to make this an easy recipe.
  • Raspberries – Frozen works best.
  • Sprite – Or any lemon-lime soda.
  • Grenadine – A flavored syrup made from grapefruit, giving this chiller its deep red color. I use it in this Taylor Swift Cocktail, too!

See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

Substitutions and Variations

  • Fruit – Try another fruit! You could make a strawberry version or blueberry version that I think would be delicious, too.
  • Soda – Switch it up with cream soda or ginger ale instead of Sprite.
  • Lemonade – You could also bring in more flavor with a flavored lemonade such as strawberry lemonade or blueberry lemonade. Or use a juice like Minute Maid Tropical Punch or Berry Punch
  • Grenadine – Can be substituted with pomegranate concentrate or juice or a cherry syrup, too. Or if you want to make it boozy, use aperol!

Expert Tips

  • A high-speed blender is key to give this drink a smoothie, slushie-like consistency.
  • Don’t skip freezing the lemonade into cubes! Your drink will be much too liquidy.
  • If you use fresh raspberries instead of frozen, add a few regular ice cubes to the mix, too. You may notice more raspberry seeds in your drink if you choose fresh instead of frozen.

Recipe FAQs

How do we store it?

Since this is a frozen drink, I don’t recommend storing it for extended periods. Best served just after blending!

Can I make it a spiked Raspberry Lemonade?

You can absolutely turn this into a spiked frozen lemonade! I suggest adding rum, silver tequila or vodka to the blender. About 8 oz total will do the trick. Do note, however, that your chiller will be a bit thinner due to more liquid.

What makes pink lemonade pink?

In this Pink Lemonade recipe, the pink color comes from the raspberries + Grenadine. Classic pink lemonade you acn buy at the store is simply regular lemonade with food dye added in.
