Cream cheese makes a dip so rich, smooth, and velvety. It creates a tangy texture without being overly salty and mixes well with so many other flavors.
Whether your having it with chips, pretzels, veggies, pita, crostinis, on a sandwich, or mixed with pasta (yes! Dips make a fabulous pasta sauce!), I've got a dip for you. Expert Tips
If you make your dip in advance, be sure to stir thoroughly before serving. Often the layers will separate if it sits for a while.
If you're counting macros or looking to make your dip a little lighter, use ⅓ fat cream cheese. When mixed with so many other flavors, you won't even bee able to tell the dips.
With cream cheese dips, you'll want to use an electric hand mixer, blender or food processor. These high powered mixers will ensure your dip is smooth throughout. If you attempt to stir with just a spoon, your dip may end up chunky.
Dip FAQs
Get creative with how you're serving savory dips. A few ideas include:
- As a dip for crackers, chips, or veggies sliced cucumber, carrots, or peppers.
- In a wrap or on a sandwich.
- On warm pita or naan bread.
- A dollop as garnish to lunch or dinners. Great on salads or on a grain/buddha/power bowl situation.
Think of what you would dip into fondue. Sweet dips are great with graham crackers, Scooby Snacks, Nilla Wafers, pretzels, waffle cone pieces, or fruit like strawberries, bananas or sliced apples.
Most of these dips will last ~4 days in the fridge. Be sure to stir before serving to avoid separation. See individual post recipes for more details.
