Recipe Ingredients

labeled ingredients for pepperoni pizza dip.
  • Cheese – This delicious dip is for cheese lovers. I used mozzarella cheese, cottage cheese, and Italian cheese. Feel free to add any other cheeses too. A sharp white cheddar cheese and parmesan cheese are great options.
  • Greek Yogurt –  Can sub sour cream or cream cheese if you want it even richer.
  • Pizza Sauce – I used Rao’s. Pasta sauce works too.
  • Basil – FRESH basil, finely chopped, really takes it up a notch.
  • Pepperoni – I used turkey pepperonis.
  • Spices – Red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, salt and oregano.

PRO TIPS

  • Quarter the pepperoni or use mini pepperonis and fold them into the cheese mixture. This ensures you get pepperoni in each bite. SO YUMMY!
  • If your skillet is filled to the top, add a sheet pan underneath while baking to catch any that bubbles over.

Recipe FAQs

How do we store it?

This dip is best served fresh from the oven. If you have extra I suggest keeping right in the skillet and covering with plastic wrap. Once you’re ready to enjoy the leftovers, pop the entire dish back under the broiler for a couple of minutes to reheat and brown the top a bit more.

Do I have to use the food processor?

You could also use a blender, or skip this step and just stir the cottage cheese and yogurt together. You’ll definitely have a chunkier texture, but it is still very delicious!

What type of pan can I use?

The skillet I used was 9 inch diameter and ceramic, but you can instead use a cast iron skillet. If you don’t have one, you can also make this in an 8×8 baking dish or pie plate.

Serving suggestions

Gosh, by the spoon? LOL. I love this on a toasted baguette, garlic bread, or this Pesto Focaccia. These Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks would be a perfect pairing. Double the cheese!

Or serve it with pita chips, bagel chips, pretzels or your favorite crackers. This dip would also be tasty with fresh vegetables. Not feeling dip? No problem. These Pizza Sliders are a great alternative and so delicious.

I brought this for our Super Bowl line up and won the award as the first dish completely gone. I wish i made more! It was so creamy and delicious! I am not a big cottage cheese fan so i was hesitant. Make this! You won’t be disappointed

This was a huge hit for my daughter’s birthday party! It was completely devoured with just a little bit leftover—mixed into scrambled eggs the morning after and WOW. Still tasted amazing and elevated the eggs. Got asked to bring this to an Easter gathering already!
