About these Burgers
Skip the bun with these skewers and these Turkey Burger Bites become a healthier and lower carb option than your typical burger. You won’t even miss the bread with the flavor packed into this burger on a stick recipe.
Plus, no utensils required! Cocktail skewers make these a great party food for easy serving and easy eating. Serve as an appetizer or have a few Mini Burger Kabobs with a tasty side salad for dinner. Either way, you’ve got yourself a drool worthy turkey burger recipe.
What makes these mini burgers extra tasty (but also so simple) is a zesty Italian seasoning packet. Forget measuring out individual spices because this mixture of onion, garlic, and peppery flavors is all you will need. We will also add A1 and dijon mustard for some extra tang.
And if you love flavorful burgers, also try these Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers or these Roasted Garlic Basil Chicken Burgers. Or if you want a deconstructed burger, try this Big Mac Casserole!
Recipe Ingredients
- Ground Turkey - I used 93% lean, 7% fat ground turkey. You could also use ground beef or ground chicken if you prefer.
- Dijon Mustard - A little goes a long way with this, adding a sweet yet spicy flavor.
- A.1. Sauce - This adds the perfect tanginess to the mini burgers.
- Zetsy Italian Seasoning - I love a spice packet. This Italian mix brings in SO much flavor with so little effort.
- Munster Cheese Cubes - I like this super mild cheese on this burger to round out all of the flavors. Cubes work great for the skewers.

How to Make This Recipe
1. In a mixing bowl, mix ground turkey, dijon mustard, A1 sauce and Italian seasoning together until well combined. Heat a skillet to medium heat and spray with cooking spray. Then use your hands to form the ground turkey mixture into 12 equal sized patties that are roughly 2 inch diameter and 1” thick.
2. Cook mini burger patties on both sizes for 3-4 minutes each or until internal temperature reaches 165°F. Meanwhile, wash the tomatoes and lettuce. Dice cheese into thin cubes and the avocado into fine slices. Cut the lettuce into small squares (similar size to the patty).
3. Top the cooked burgers with the cheese and avocado slices. Add the tomato to the cocktail skewer and then pierce the burger, cheese, avocado stack. Then add the lettuce to the skewer last, placed underneath the burger patty to serve as the base on your serving dish.
4. Serve Mini Burgers on a Stick with a side of Ranch or your favorite condiment or drizzle it on top of all of the skewers.
dietary considerations
- Gluten free: The Zesty Italian Seasoning Packet I used does have gluten. You can either find a dairy free alternative seasoning packet, or sub 1 teaspoon of each salt, onion flakes, garlic powder, and dried red bell pepper flakes.
- Dairy free: Omit the cheese or use a diary free alternative.
- Vegetarian: Use ground beyond meat!
Recipe FAQs
These Mini Burger Skewers can be stored assembled on their skewer in an air tight container for 3-5 days. I suggest leaving the lettuce off the bottom until you're ready to serve so the juices from the burgers do not drip down and make it soggy.
Yes! To make tiny burger buns for these mini burger skewers, use store bought dinner roll dough. Divide each piece of dough into 3 equal pieces (1 dinner roll = 3 mini burger buns). Bake according to package instructions but keep an eye on them the last couple of minutes since they are slightly smaller than the dinner rolls they may take a little less time. Once cooked, slice in half horizontally and put one half on the top of your skewer and one on the bottom for a burger on a stick with a bun!
Absolutely! It will only take about 2-4 minutes per side since they are so small. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 165°F.
Try adding any of the following to your mini burgers for even more flavor: dill pickle, bacon, green olive, onion, another cheese variety, top with light ranch, mayo, mustard, ketchup, Chick-fil-a Sauce.
