Grilled chicken burgers have a special place in my heart
You guys love the incredibly delicious Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers AND the infamous Cheddar Bacon Ranch Turkey Burgers I made for Madeline Moves #TighterTogether Challenge. I love making them because, honestly, they're so EASY! You can pack burgers with your favorite flavors, add your favorite toppings, and even prep them for future meals. They're also a great source of protein!
So, I'm back with another amazing burger recipe! These Roasted Garlic and Basil Chicken Burgers are so juicy and grill to absolute perfection. Notes of garlic and basil flavor pair perfectly with warm, toasted bread, melted cheese, and your favorite toppings and condiments. You can dress them up to your preference and enjoy any way you like!
These burgers are also so great for meal prep. Store them in the fridge for a few days or seal them in an airtight bag or container in the freezer to whip out in a pinch.
You can also take the ingredients in this recipe, cook them in a skillet, and add to a pasta or lasagna. They are so versatile and sooooo delicious.
Ingredient's you'll need
Ground Chicken: If you don't like chicken burgers, you can also use ground turkey or ground beef. Impossible 'burger' meat is also a solid option.
Roasted Tomato, Garlic, and Basil Seasoning: It's no secret how much I love prepared seasoning packets! They're so easy to use and help create an incredibly flavorful meal in almost no time.
Garlic: Elevates any savory dish.
Egg: To help bind our meat, vegetables, and spices together.
White Onion: Adds a nice and sweet caramelized flavor to our burgers.
Cherry Tomatoes: I love adding tomatoes to burgers. They taste great as a topping, so why not in the burger itself?!
Spinach: Another easy veggie to add for some extra nutrition.
Feta Cheese: You can add another crumbled option like bleu cheese or queso fresco if you'd like.
Kitchen equipment & tools needed
To make this burger recipe, you'll need a cutting board, knife, mixing bowl, skillet pan, spoon, spatula, and a meat masher. If you have one, I highly recommend you cook these burgers in a Ninja Foodi Grill. It creates such a beautiful char and is so easy to use!
How to make these chicken burgers
- Chop your white onion, spinach and cherry tomatoes. Mince your garlic.
- In a mixing bowl, combine chopped white onion, spinach, cherry tomatoes, egg, minced garlic, ground chicken, seasonings, and crumbled feta cheese.
- Mix until all ingredients are combined.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into 4 burger patties.
- Heat a stove pan to medium heat and spray with cooking spray. Place burgers on the hot pan and cook for approximately 6 minutes on each side or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. If you have a Ninja Foodi Grill, you can also cook these burgers on there for delicious char and flavor!
- While the burgers cook, prepare your toppings. Caramelized some onions and broil or toast your buns. I love putting cheese and avocado on them and broil at 525°F for 2-3 minutes, or until bread starts to toast. Use whatever you like!
- Serve with toppings and condiments of your choice!
The best way to prepare your chicken burgers
I know I've said this before, but I highly recommend you use the Ninja Foodi Grill for these burgers if you have one! Set your temperature, prep the grill pan, and pop your burgers on. It not only adds a beautiful char to the outside of your meat, but it helps keep the inside juicy and tender, too. Jack and I use ours several times a week!
Another way to up your burger game deals with your buns. You could just pop them in the toaster....or you could broil them with cheese and avocado! These melts the cheese to perfection, adds a little crisp, and softens the avocado.
Lastly, go all out with your toppings. Caramelize some onions or mushrooms, melt your favorite cheese on the burgers, slap on your favorite condiment like mayo, ketchup, mustard, or another fancy sauce, and enjoy!

Frequently asked questions
How do I store these burgers?
Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Keep your burgers separate from your bun and toppings until you're ready to enjoy.
How do I stop the burger from crumbling?
Yes, ground chicken and turkey have a tendency to crumble on the stove, and especially on the grill. I recommend cooking them on tin foil so you can easily use a spatula or spoon to pack them back together.
Can I freeze these burgers?
Yes! Store cooked burgers in an airtight bag for up to 3 months. They're great to whip out in a pinch!
