There’s so much to love about this Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie, I could go on and on (and on) about it! The texture is thick and luscious with sweet fruity flavor and rich chocolate all in smoothie form! I like to think of this as dessert for breakfast because it’s so dang good.
But if you do want something more green, check out this Spinach Mango Protein Smoothie that’s oh so fresh! Perfect as an easy breakfast or post workout fuel.

Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie Ingredients
Raspberries – Frozen are best for the thicker texture and are usually cheaper than fresh anyway!
Strawberries – Same thing for the strawberries, frozen are best for this strawberry chocolate smoothie
Protein Powder – I used Premier Protein Chocolate Hazelnut flavor which was absolutely delicious but feel free to sub for whatever type you’ve got. For instance, these vanilla protein powder packets would be just as tasty, just as an entirely new flavor.
Nut Milk – Any nut milk will work for this raspberry chocolate smoothie, use sweetened or unsweetened depending on how sweet you want it!
Hazelnut Butter – Adds to the hazelnut flavor but feel free to sub for any nut/seed butter that you’d like. I love Georgia Grinder’s hazelnut butter – you can use code: PAIGE20 for 20% off your order!

How to Make a Raspberry Chocolate Smoothie
This chocolate smoothie is SO good yet SO easy to make, it’s truly a dream blend! There’s nothing better than a quick breakfast, snack, or even dessert when you’re huuungry.
- Place everything in a high speed blender.
- Blend together on high for 30-45 seconds until everything is combined together.
- Pour into a glass, top with fresh fruit and chocolate pieces.
This creates such a thick and creamy smoothie but if you want it even thicker, smoothie bowl style, only include ¼ cup of milk and let it blend for longer. Just be sure to scrape down the sides of the blender occasionally until all fruit is combined.

Make This Smoothie Your Own!
While this raspberry chocolate smoothie is AMAZING just as it is, there are also so many fun ways to switch things up.
– Instead of frozen raspberries and strawberries, try subbing for one other fruit like frozen blueberries or bananas. The color and flavor will change of course but the overall smoothie would still be just as delicious. Trust me, a chocolate smoothie with blueberries or banana added would be real good.
– Try making this different flavors depending on what protein powder you use. Maybe it’s just chocolate or vanilla; or you try a different fun flavor like peanut butter and chocolate hazelnut.
– I used an unsweetened plain nut milk but if you want to get real crafty, try making this raspberry chocolate smoothie with chocolate milk … oh yes you heard me right! There are a few brands of regular or plant based chocolate milk options that you could use for this.
– If Hazelnut isn’t for you try subbing with peanut butter for a delicious raspberry chocolate peanut butter smoothie. I imagine it’d taste like a peanut butter and jelly smoothie!
– Add some healthy fats with a tablespoon of flaxseed or chia seed. For healthy fats + plant based protein, add hemp seeds instead!
– For some fun topping ideas try granola, cereal, chopped nuts, cacao nibs, more fruit for added texture + flavor to your smoothie.
